A while back, I decided that I really want to “see” people this year. It’s so easy to get caught up in our day-to-day lives and take care of those we love but not really see past them. I want to change that this year. I gave a lot of thought to what that would look like for me and I came upon the idea of sending more cards. I make them and I have a huge collection of them but writing something and adding a stamp seem to be the steps that are missing for me. I was so excited that I had a goal that could make the world a little better.
But, if I’m being honest, my follow-through on new year goals is not always the best. In fact, most of the time, it is non-existent. A while back, I read Gretchen Rubin’s book The Four Tendencies and discovered that I am an obliger. I am great at completing tasks when someone else is holding me accountable but when it is just me, I’m not so good at finishing. Knowing this about myself has totally changed the way I do things. Now, I have to add an accountability partner or work on goals as a group.
So, once I decided that sending more cards would be my goal, I thought I would see if anyone wanted to join me in a goal to send 2018 cards in 2018. I am blown away and so happy with the response that I have gotten to this goal. I’ve got a group set up and we are ready to hit the ground running. Want to join me? Not only will you help brighten someone’s day but you will win PRIZES doing it! Get all the details here: 2018 Card Challenge
